comments work. votes work.  bugs are periodically reviewed.  If they  
are already targetted for 7.0 then the comments will be seen again  
before 7.0
if it's future, then keep voting, but basically the decision is  
likely made to deal with it after the ones that are already  
targetted.  if you comment, the assignee will still see it.
if you feel it's absolutely critical for a specific reason, add chris  
-at- slimdevices -dot- com to the cc list (sorry chris).  I have a  
standard search for "recent" reports, which mean anything that's been  
modified within the last 2 days.  I've passed the same search query  
onto others who may be using it as well.  Having revealed that,  
please don't abuse it.  There are a lot of bug reports, and they are  
of varying importance to everyone.  Be fair to others who want to  
have their issues given some attention and try not to blast reports  
and make the "recent" query useless.

bad idea.  it's like crossposting.  It breaks focus and causes  
duplication of effort and wasted resources.
