I use Suse version for development so I run SC from a shell prompt. I looked at the Wiki instructions and they are only proven for 6.x and not 7.0. They need to be updated for SC 7.0
Make sure about permissions of the log directory and log files. The logs files have changed for SC7.0 - they are kept in the Logs directory and the files are server.log and scanner.log.
