I just installed Spy Sweeper 5.5 from webroot on one of my computers today to clean out some accumulated adware on an old box. Right away I noticed that SC stopped remembering certain settings (album image size and sorting, place in the menu, etc.). I turned off the "Tracking Cookies" shield option and it started remembering again. According to the Spy Sweeper help the option is only supposed to block "known tracking cookies that can collect and share information about your web surfing habits". I did a quick check and at least one other site (www.nwa.com) didn't have problems remembering user ID information, etc. with the "Tracking Cookies" option enabled.
So the question is should SC use a different kind of cookie (if there is such a thing) or is this just a case of getting on the wrong list or something? I've no idea if this is a bug, enhancement request, or just the way the world works so I haven't entered anything in the bug system yet.
