Tried a SlimServer_trunk_v2007-11-10.exe /VERYSILENT /SP-
/SUPPRESSMSGBOXES /NOICONS and the c:\program files\SqueezeCenter and
the c:\programdata\SqueezeCenter folder were created, but SqueezeCenter
process died with the same error as before
(C:\PROGRA~1\SQUEEZ~1\server\Bin\MSWIN3~1\mysqld.ex e: Can't
create/write to file
'\SqueezeCenter\Cache\MySQL\/SqueezeCenter/Cache/squeezecenter-mysql.pid'
(Errcode: 2)). Now there were also a c:\SqueezeCenter folder.

Then I used the ServiceEnabler.exe program to make SqueezeCenter run as
service, just to see if that made a difference, but no.

I also tried with the /LOG option, but no installations errors.

On another machine, I then made a new and full installation of Windows
Server 2008 (RC0) and did exact the same installation as before
(SlimServer_trunk_v2007-11-10.exe /VERYSILENT /SP- /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES
/NOICONS). No problems at all and no c:\SqueezeCenter folder.

So something is obviously going wrong during the first startup after an
installation (on the core version). I just can’t figure out what.
The user on the full installation and the user on the core installation
have the same environment variables. There is of course the difference
between a full and a core (no html) installation of Windows 2008, so
maybe the first startup is depending on some html stuff or something
else that is not a part of an core installation.

Please let me known if there is anything else I can try out.

Ole
