Michael, I didn't get any replies by reposting.... anyway I have now solved the lack of date and time screen saver.
How the settings got changed I don't know, but the evidence points to the update to the latest software update. I found the "enable" "date and time" screensaver option in the extras tab. I didn't realise that I had to completely restart the machine (Even though the screen does tell me so) (I haven't got the knowledge to restart the slimserver service without shutting down the machine.) Surely the default situation should be that the date and time screen saver is enabled?
