been a while since i've used suse

did you try

yast install squeezecenter

it might be slightly different, check the yast --help

basically try to avoid the gui menus.... 

also you might want to be sure squezecenter is in your repo list...

i've switched to centos, so again i'm somewhat unfamilier with suse
these days... but hopefully that will help...
