OK, I just updated my 770 to OS 2006, ver 3.2006.49-2. No changes to the above behavior. Some things do work. I can initiate playback from any browsable page, e.g. New Music, etc. I can clear the playlist. But the regular playback controls appear broken.
Soooo...what to do?
