With the 12-23 nightly, there seems to be a problem related to this
discussion. Using yum on Fedora Core 8, I get:

Code:
--------------------

--> Processing Dependency: perl < 5.9 for package: squeezecenter
---> Package perl-ekg2.i386 0:0.1.1-1.fc8 set to be updated
---> Package squeezecenter.noarch 0:7.0.0-0.1.20071223 set to be updated
  --> Finished Dependency Resolution
Error: Missing Dependency: perl < 5.9 is needed by package squeezecenter

  [EMAIL PROTECTED] lib]# perl -v
This is perl, v5.8.8 built for i386-linux-thread-multi

[EMAIL PROTECTED] lib]# yum list perl
  Installed Packages
  perl.i386 4:5.8.8-32.fc8 installed

[EMAIL PROTECTED] lib]# yum list squeezecenter
  Installed Packages
  squeezecenter.noarch 7.0.0-0.1.20071222 installed
  Available Packages
  squeezecenter.noarch 7.0.0-0.1.20071223 squeezecenter-te

--------------------

It looks like the new version check code miscalculates the installed
version of perl...
yum -t (relaxed error checking) doesn't resolve this. I could force it
with rpm, but that isn't going to remove the problem.

Thanks.
