OK, I just installed CC 4.2.  SELinux is indeed disabled by default. 
After installation, all I did was:
- Apply any critical and recommended updates
- Install MySQL via the "Software Modules" menu
- Install squeezecenter with rpm -ivh
http://repos.slimdevices.com/yum/squeezecenter-testing/squeezecenter-7.0.0-0.1.20071223.noarch.rpm

Everything worked the first time with no errors and no other steps
necessary.  I'm not sure what, but something is broken on your
system...
