Thomsens, I understood that the problem was with 24bit/96kKHz FLAC music on TP, but the details of the fix "there was a trivial fix for this in SlimServer - we were just not sending the right parameters to the player" had me hoping that it might also fix my problem as the symptoms were the same - as described in the thread link in my post. I linked to page 3 of the thread to draw attention to the fact that Slim are looking at it, as having worked as Systems Manager in an international corporation I am only too aware that sometimes a bug can get fixed by one team while a similar bug can languish for some time with another programming team.
