I'm also having scanning issues in Windows (Version: 7.0 - 15712 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252). On three occasions, SqueezeCenter has abruptly stopped in the middle of the "Merge Various Artists" phase (e.g. at 59 of 230), but then incorrectly reported that it had finished scanning. After each of these scans, album art only appeared for an album once I browsed to the album level. This happened when I initially installed SqueezeCenter; in that case, I was using a UNC path (\\office\music_1) for the music folder. I then mapped the network drive to z: and rescanned, and it finished the "Merge" phase, then followed with "Artwork Scan" and "Database Optimize". When it finished, the artwork appeared properly.
I tried going back to the UNC paths, but the scanner never got through the directory scan, and I had to kill it after 20 minutes. I rescanned using the mapped drive, and I got the abbreviated scan, and no cover art. Since then, I've rescanned twice, once successfully and once not. There have been no changes to the contents of the library during this process. I'm attaching the scanner log. What I find peculiar, as a programmer, is that the logs for each scan are so different. When I run a program twice on the same data, it's alarming to get different results. I see that in the second scan, two infinite loops were detected, which I find odd for two reasons: 1. It was the third scan, not the second, that I had to kill. Is it possible that the scanner log wasn't written for the initial scan after installation? 2. The infinite loops seem to be related to two Windows shortcuts that should absolutely be outside the scope of the music library. In fact, the entire music library contains a single shortcut, which points to the second half of my collection. (I should point out that the shortcut only makes sense from the perspective of the other computer, which still has SlimServer installed.) Any hints on where to go from here? +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Filename: scanner.txt | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3940| +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ -- dbls ------------------------------------------------------------------------ dbls's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=296 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=41480 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/beta
