I am running SC7 build 16051 under Windows XP. I have only just bought by Squeezebox, so please excuse me if this is a bit of an idiotic question.
The experimental library is all MP3s tagged by Windows Media Player and all the tracks have Album Artist set; some have multiple primary Artists. Each album has its own directory. I am playing with tags using Tag and Rename 3.4, which recognises WMP's album artist tag, but I don't know how to check if it's ALBUMARTIST or Album Artist. There are 4 albums, all of which have multiple artists, some of them have the album artist contribute to most tracks, some of them do not at all (DJ mixes) I want only Album artists to appear in the library, but no Various Artists, unless I specifically set the Album artist to Various. It seems like only the "Group compilations" flag in SC7 does anything. If I have it set to Group, I get only Various Artists in my library, if not -- then I get the 56 artists which make up the 4 CDs I chose to put in my mini-library. Switching "list albums by band" seems to have no impact, even thought I think this is what should turn on my desired behaviour. Switching on "Band in Artists" seems to do nothing too. Switching the Compilation flag in T&R seems to do nothing. When I switch the settings, I clear the library and rescan. What am I doing wrong?
