SqueezeCenter also understands a user-defined tag (TXXX) called ALBUMARTIST. I use generally use this instead of BAND (TPE2). You can set this in Mp3Tag (www.mp3tag.de/en), because that's the editor that I use. Under SqueezeCenter settings -> Music Library, my settings are: Band/Orcheastra ticked. Group compilation albums together. List albums by band. Make sure you have those options set and do a full rescan.
