Great, I'll use that instead of TPE2 and the useBandAsAlbumArtist option in SC (which is broken; see bug 6490). > If all songs were by Robert Plant and Jimmy Page, I would tag as: > ARTIST=Jimmy Page > ARTIST=Robert Plant > ALBUMARTIST=Page and Plant > and "Page and Plant" would appear in the list of artists nicely. > The "Unledded" album is largely advertised as "Page and Plant", and > it has 2 contributing artists. The album info page would report 1 > Album Artist and 2 Track Artists. Really? In cases like this I do it the other way around. I would never want "Page and Plant" to appear in the "Browse Artists" list, only "Robert Plant" and "Jimmy Page". And I would want this album to appear under *both*. To achieve this, I tag as follows: ARTIST=Page and Plant ALBUMARTIST=Jimmy Page ALBUMARTIST=Robert Plant This significantly de-clutters the "Browse Artists" list because it gets rid of all these artist combinations. I've also been tagging "project" albums like this, so I don't need to remember that Kris Delmhorst is part of Redbird to find all her albums: ARTIST=Redbird ALBUMARTIST=Redbird ALBUMARTIST=Kris Delmhorst ALBUMARTIST=Peter Mulvey ALBUMARTIST=Jeffrey Foucault and now I'll find that album under any of those four artist headings in "Browse Artists". greg _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/beta
