We should be careful that we know exactly what the intention of these options are before raising bugs that it doesn't work how you like it. I think the intention was an option to keep the list of artists down when browsing by artist: "List albums by all artists for that album" means any contributor for the album (dependent on the Conductor, Composor, Band/Orchestra checkboxes) will appear in the list of artists. "List albums by band" means a contributing artist that only appears on that album as a contributor would not be listed in the Artists list. I use "List albums by band", and that seems to be what happens for me. I haven't tried the other option for some time; I think if it is changed, the library needs to be rescanned (if so, I think there should be a warning mesage when the option is changed). Eg. I have an album by artists "Jimmy Page;Robert Plant" which has an albumartist (TXXX) of "Page & Plant" and band "Page & Plant". I see the album when I browse to "Page & Plant" and also when I browse to Robert Plant (because I have other artists by Robert Plant). I haven't got any other albums by Jimmy Page, so he doesn't appear in the browse artists list.
