My SB was not responding to signals from the remote. It still worked
fine if I controlled it through SC.

If I shutdown SC7 and restart my SB, it responds to the remote just
fine.
Re-installing SC7 after that and the problem returns.
Selecting "forget this player" in SC7 does not fix the problem.

-Completely- removing SqueezeCenter, then re-installing seems to have
fixed things.
- uninstall
- delete C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\SqueezeCenter
- regedit : delete any SqueezeCenter keys (BTW, uninstall does not
remove the SqueezeMySql service from the services list in the registry)

This happened with the nightlies 01-17, 01-18, 01-19, 01-20, so there's
-something- being set in prefs (or somewhere else) that was causing the
problem.

BTW, as my SB wasn't responding to the remove when connected to SC, I
set my SB to "auto-load firmware" - the brightness button, like all the
others, was being ignored, once connected to SC7.

So... AFAICT my problem's solved. I'm posting this thread in the hopes
that if this happens to anyone else they can jump directly to my "what
fixed it" rather than spend some hours trying all the possibilities...
