The addition does not have to be part of SC. It is possible to have a user plugin which provides the "My Internet Stations" functionality.
The user plugin for "My Internet Stations" (or indeed under any menu) could take the SC Favorites plugin code as the basis and make it a user plugin under the relevant menu.
