There have been a few threads that started discussing problems with clearing a library but they seem to drift over to automating the process. There are several things I've noticed with this recently and some of them may be bugs that need addressing so here goes again:
Background: 22 Jan. nightly MusicIP is source of music (running headless as a service) Music folder in SC is blank Playlist folder in SC is set (d:\music playlists) There are 2 actual music folders 1) d:\music and 2) d:\xmas music Music IP had scanned and verified both folders so they were available in SC. Playlists had been created in SC and saved. 1) Deleted all songs from MusicIP library. 2) Reloaded just the d:\music folder into Music IP and verified. 4415 song found. 3) In SC7 ran full clear and rescan 4) SC reported a few hundred more songs than MusicIP 5) Turned off MusicIP and reran SC7 full clear and rescan 6) Still had a couple hundred albums in the SC7 library 7) Removed path to playlist folder and reran SC7 Full clear and rescan 8) Still had a couple hundred albums in library. 9) Uninstalled SC7 and REinstalled. 10) No folders were setup for music or playlists, no MusicIP server on 11) did full clear and rescan - no music found. 12) Started MusicIP and did a SC7 full clear and rescan - 4415 songs found (matching MusicIP) 13) Added playlist folder (d:\music playlists) to SC7 14) did SC7 Full clear and rescan - christmas music found from playists and added to SC7 album list 15) Removed Christmas playlist and did SC7 full clear and rescan - christmas music removed from albums list in SC7 - again matching MusicIP. It sure seems like the full clear isn't fully clearing. Steps 7 and 8 should have found no music. Should this be reported as a bug? I'm thinking that automatically adding in the playlist music to the album list is intentional - just noting it in case it isn't for some reason. There is a bug in that you cannot delete a song from a playlist if it is not on the first page (a song from the first page is deleted instead) - already reported as bug 6715. -- dwilliams01 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ dwilliams01's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10988 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=42589 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/beta
