Unfortunately that is VERY sensitive to syntax errors and you can easily kill your whole page with a missing ";" or "END" or something and then you have to clear your template cache and restart the server.. Don't know how sensitive the new Default Skin is to that with all it's JavaScript but at least the popup would be dead. That's nasty as a developer, but if you can crash the frontend with a malformed comment in a file, hmmm...
