Deleting files which apt installed manually is a bad idea -> trouble.
You have to purge the package then, which removes all files (also
configuration files, so back them up in case).
'sudo apt-get purge squeezecenter'
'sudo apt-get install squeezecenter'
should get you going again.
Using 17071 now, which sees my dynamic playlists again, but my worst
trouble the days before was only that I had to enter again my
preferences after an update, SC was working otherwise.

Bye, signor_rossi?
