Mostly it is fine so long as you only have one SB1 (or SliMP3) in the
sync-group. The offset tolerance with SB1s is a little greater than
with SB2+ players but this is not usually noticeable unless the
speakers are really close, and not always even then. I have only really
tested an SB1 with MP3, not WAV and sync does not work with AIF at all.
In fact, there may be a bug with WAV so if you find a problem, it would
be better to force transcoding to MP3 (at highest quality, 320kbps of
course).

Do you mean debug or adjust? There are player preferences (under
Settings / Players / <player> / Audio) for setting the start-up delay
and play offset. Adjustment to these take effect immediately (within a
second or two), so you can just adjust the play offset until it sounds
right (the start-offset probably does not apply in the digital output
case, now that I think about it).
