I'm using SC7 on a Linux platform and having trouble with foreign characters, both in filenames and in ID3 tags.
It will not read and index MP3 ID3 tags if there are accented characters in them, nor will it display them if I browse from Music Folder. It will try to populate that information (artist, album, etc.) from the pathname (incorrectly, because I don't use the required directory structure), but it truncates at the position of the first accented character. I briefly thought I was on to something because errors appeared in the server log complaining about line 873 in Info.pm, where it detects encoding, but hard-coding it to 'iso-8859-1' made the error go away without solving the problem. I'm hoping someone can tell me whether this is a bug in SC, or if there is some system configuration I need to change. I'll provide more information if requested. Here's the basics of my config: SqueezeCenter Version: 7.0 - 17314 - Red Hat - EN - utf8 Perl Version: 5.8.8 x86_64-linux MySQL Version: 5.0.45 Platform Architecture: x86_64-linux OS: Mandriva Free 2007, kernel 2.6.17-10mdv I'd really like to get this working. My 3.5-year old SB1 mainly functions as an expensive clock, but I'd like to buy a new SB3 to replace my Audiotron... if I can get all the kinks worked out. -- Rhindle ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Rhindle's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15406 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=43219 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/beta
