Well, it looks like I dismissed the RetroBrowser theory too soon: it does seem to be the culprit (perhaps this thread should be moved to Jive!). If I go to RetroBrowser the screen shrinks and if I then use the old remote or the WebUI from that point onwards, it will stay shrunk. If I use the Jive and browse away from RetroBrowser (e.g. go to Music Library), then after a while the screen rights itself.
