OK - I'll try restarting the SC service - and, as this is a win2K server, I make a point of disabling uPNP. Not a bad protocol per. se. - but ms's implementation is a bit wanting - particularly in this version. BTW Do you get artwork when you do it this way?
Oh - there are a few things that are easier with windows - like making one service "dependent" on another, so they always start in the right order. Of course, once you get to Win2K3, you go from a security model that's somewhat more complicated than linux to one that's baroque.
