I've done a bit of debugging. I put this lines into the date being
retuned from AlienBBC getMetadataFor routine.
title => "Test title with 37°2 degree",
With various logging turned on. The write response has the correct
"title" with hex code for the degree chartacter.

into 2 chars: Acirc and degree.
