I don't see any reason to sweat this...softsqueeze is open-source, and
Richard has long stopped softsqueeze development support, so you could
argue it's already been "deprecated", though I think using that
terminology is a bit wrong in this context.

Regardless though, it's open-source, so there's no reason that it needs
to disappear. It's just not going to be given any official development
support.

What may happen at some point in the not-too-distant future is that the
option in the webUI to launch softsqueeze may be replaced with
squeezeplay.
