Thanks Michael, that did the trick. (I seem to remember this from before with McAfee on Xp...I'm now on Vista) Unfortunately, there seems no way to limit McAfee just to leaving the *.my* files alone, I had to set it to scan program & document files only. This is unfortunate as the last time (when I was running Xp) I got some malware bugs in the system which may have slipped past McAfee because I was running it in a degraded protection mode. I assume that now I've scanned everything into SC OK, I should be able to reset McAfee back to defaults..
