Sorry, I missed the earlier poster's question. That's exactly what I
did. If you are running on a PC PSPad is a great freeware editor to use
with Squeezecentre. The text files follow the unix convention of just
having a <CR> at the end of each line whereas most windows programs
expect <CR><LF>. If you use Notepad for example the files will show as
having only a few very long lines.

PSPad is designed with writing and editing code in mind so it is
perfect for customising your installation. If you select the context
menu option during installation it allows you to right click on any
file and open it with PSPad.
