I've added a simple cleanup script to 7.3 trunk, which should help you get rid of your SC preferences, cache and mysql database. Simply run "cleanup.pl" from the SC installation folder (Windows .exe still to be done), while SC is shut down.
It currently supports only three parameters: --cache, --prefs, --all. Please give them a try (but don't complain if you have to run a full re-scan afterwards ;-)). Any comment is welcome.
