Well I can't be 100% sure, but I left the controller undocked, sitting idle downstairs while I tried to figure out what was going on with my Boom upstairs.
I picked up the controller as the Logitech screen appeared. I then went out for about 1.5hrs and when I came back, I again found it booting up. I hadn't noticed this before, but leaving it undocked for a couple of hours and checking the var/messages file should confirm if the controller had rebooted.
