I've not heard of any cases, I'm afraid. Hopefully someone will shout if they've got it running in that environment.
The main requirement is that you've the Linux::Inotify2 CPAN module installed for Perl (kind of a Perl plugin, if you like), which needs to be compiled on Linux. Searching around for installing CPAN modules on the ReadyNAS might help - if you can get that installed then it should work OK.
