Ignore this - I think there's something dodgy with Fluid. Although another 'MenuExtra' I'd already created with another web app is working fine, just added another pointing to something other than SC and it behaves incorrectly just as the SC instance does. I'll try a reinstall of Fluid, failing that a message to the dev's. Apologies for any confusion.
