That's not the point. The problem is that depending on the original size the result of scaling will vary. I see no reason not to improve SC in this area for those that do not feel like doing it manually or do not have the knowledge or time (personally I do some photography and spend enough time as it is in raw-editors and the Gimp etc.). I do think that if done it should be optional. Especially for those who use external means of providing high-quality artwork should not be subject to SC potentially messing up their art. Edit: But really, the improvement part is far ahead.
