I have a duet and been using 7.3.2 squeezecenter on windows 7 RC with no
problems. Before that I had it running on windows vista for a few
months with few problems. I'd though I'd try the 7.4 version for the
hell of it. Everything seemed to install fine and the controller
connected fine to squeezecenter. It also installed new software on the
controller and the controller reset with no problems.

The reciever also seemed to connect (white light) but on squeezecenter
it had a message saying that the "player" needs the latest firmware and
it also said to press the "brightness button" to do this. It appears
the brigtness button refers to the boombox or transports remote control
as the duet controller does not have this button. I could go and play a
song and the receiver thought it was playing but the firmware update
message was still displayed on squeeze center and there was no sound.
The scanner worked fine as I was able to access my entire library on the
controller.

I tried build 26597 and then I saw build 26644 and tired that with same
problem. I uninstalled 7.4 and reinstalled 7.3.2 and everything works
fine.
