I think the main motivation in returning to sqlite is resource requirements and performance of squeezecenter. Doesn't much matter if the scanner is slower if sc runs better on all platforms (esp. NAS boxes) once the scan is done. Could be interesting to compare a tuned mysql setup to sqlite. I'd expect a desktop os w/ gobs of ram would perform better w/ mysql having large caches than sqlite relying on dumb os filesystem buffers. -- peterw http://www.tux.org/~peterw/ free plugins: http://www.tux.org/~peterw/#slim AllQuiet BlankSaver ContextMenu FuzzyTime KidsPlay KitchenTimer PlayLog PowerCenter/BottleRocket SaverSwitcher SettingsManager SleepFade StatusFirst SyncOptions VolumeLock ------------------------------------------------------------------------ peterw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2107 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=63421 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta
