just a datapoint, might help someone here... i have a dlink dir-655 and the newest FW added some kind of feature called advanced DNS or something like that. from what i could gather, it was to "protect me" as anti-spoofing and even correct common spelling mistakes.
i turned it on, and so far so good, but i am concerned it will "fight me" at some point, (not yet tho). what i find weird about this thread, is that a router could cause a SBR to not find SN when other SBs and the computer can. is this b/c the SBR is no longer as robust as those other options since the "fallback" was removed, OR is it b/c of some common internal flaw to the various problematic routers? i suppose it goes without saying one should first try to upgrade their router FW, but if that doesn't fix it, what then? -- MrSinatra www.lion-radio.org using: sb2 & sbc (my home) / sbr (parent's home) - w/sc 7.3.3b - win xp pro sp3 ie8 - 3.2ghz / 2gig ram - 1tb wd usb2 raid1 - d-link dir-655 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ MrSinatra's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2336 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=63880 _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta
