I've managed to get v26797 (latest automatic update) working fine, but only by manually killing the Squeezebox Control Panel process following installation. The Control Panel process is running but there is no UI box which pops up as normally so you have to go into a task manager to kill it.
If you do not kill the cp process, Squeezecenter will not start and I think others have reported the same on the forums.
