I tried subscribing for a 3-month period to see if I found any benefit in being a subscriber. I have made use of friends loved tracks, but not sure there's much other benefit. Apparently, you get preferential treatment for streaming if it is busy, but I never had a problem when I wasn't subscribed. I don't use playlists.
