Mike - in 7.4 the scanner and database is SO different that who knows
right now!

Either way though, using the folder structure/file names to drive the
database population is very iffy in my experience. Tags are best...
I'm avoiding rescan at the moment and always doing a clear+full
rescan.
It shouldn't stop the music but since the scanner can run @100% CPU (at
leas t it can on my single core XP box!) I wouldn't be confident about
that.
