The "new" controller does not yet support a static network in the setup
procedure ( bug is filed ) .
However it is possible to edit the interfaces file on the controller as
it was with the old software.
Complete the whole "resistance is futile.. " style setup procedure with
dhcp on.
Complete the whole procedure so that the controller is happy with you.
Make sure that your controller is working ,that you are connected and
all is well, this workaround demands that the wifi settings are ok ssid
password wpa and such things.
Then enable the SSH login settings>advanced>remote login .
Use you favorite ssh client or terminal.,
Edit the /etc/networking/interfaces file, the controller will accept
this and at least mine is working:
Example my own interfaces file disclaimer this is an *example* ssid ip
nr dns etc might not apply to your network.
"
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
mapping eth0
script /etc/network/if_mapping
auto eth0=Liogor
iface Liogor inet static
address 192.168.1.6
netmask 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.1.1
dns 192.168.1.1
up echo 'nameserver 192.168.1.1' > /etc/resolv.conf
"
Why did I wrote this post theres nothing new with this is it ?
this is the same as with the old controller fw, not exactly .
the line "auto eth0=<your ssid>" was not necessary before, at least not
on my netwrok and controller.
I could use this before
"
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
mapping eth0
script /etc/network/if_mapping
iface Liogor inet static
address 192.168.1.6
netmask 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.1.1
dns 192.168.1.1
up echo 'nameserver 192.168.1.1' > /etc/resolv.conf
"
Why it is like this I don't know, some Linux jock might know ?
Dont make to much fun of my ssid name, I do read to much HP Lovecraft
books.
And my passwd scheme is based on such characters to ;)
