I'm using the latest 7.4 nightly and trying to import some playlists that I exported from MediaMonkey. The playlists are valid and readable in my text editor, but apparently contain some characters that Squeezebox Server doesn't parse correctly. Below are the relevant sections of the scanner.log file showing the error:
main::main (184) Starting Squeezebox Server scanner (v7.4, r28372, Sun Aug 30 04:02:58 PDT 2009) perl 5.010000 Slim::Music::Import::runImporter (552) Starting Slim::Music::PlaylistFolderScan scan <snip> Slim::Utils::Scanner::scanDirectory (328) Scanning: C:\Music\Playlists\New Music.m3u Slim::Formats::Playlists::parseList (83) Error: While running $playlistClass->read(): [Cannot decode string with wide characters at /<C:\PROGRA~2\SQUEEZ~2\server\scanner.exe>Encode.pm line 162, <GEN3> line 129.] <snip> I'm assuming the line number in the log is referring to the line number of the playlist that caused it to fail. That entry is: Z:\Music\Cobra Starship\Cobra Starship - Hot Mess\Cobra Starship - I May Be Rude But Im The Truth (B Side).mp3 I searched the forums, but the only references to this error that seemed applicable were discussing Russian character sets. The above filename/line obviously doesn't contain any Russian characters. The end result of the error is that the playlist shows up in SB Server under my playlists, but the playlist itself is empty. Has anyone else run into this? Anyone have thoughts on a workaround? -- squeezemonkey ------------------------------------------------------------------------ squeezemonkey's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=29021 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67215
