With the public announcement of the impending release of Squeezebox
Radio and Squeezebox Touch, we've now made Squeezeplay Desktop binaries
available.

http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/?ver=7.4
the links near the bottom for OS X and Windows Squeezeplay are what you

want. *Note*: unfortunately we are not successfully building linux
binaries at this time.

These builds contain all of the work that's gone into the
upcoming 7.4/Squeezebox Radio release, as well as a great deal of work
for the 8.0/Squeezebox Touch release. This includes UI skins for Radio,
Touch, as well as the 7.4 Controller reskin effort.

Desktop Squeezeplay is a nice way to test drive the look-and-feel of
the software UI before purchase, as well a nice testing platform for 3rd
party applet/plugin development.

When you launch the app it will default to the Touch's "3' UI". IMO,
this
is the best UI for desktop use currently.

However, to change to the Radio UI:
Settings->Screen->Select Skin->QVGA Landscape Skin

similarly, you can change to Controller UI by:
Settings->Screen->Select Skin->QVGA Portrait Skin

after changing the skin, you will likely want to change the wallpaper
because it will still have a Touch-resolution wallpaper as its
background

to select a correctly sized wallpaper:
Settings->Screen->Wallpaper
and select a wallpaper of your liking.

cheers,
#!/ben
