I'm finding literally hundreds of flac albums that scanned perfectly
under 7.3.x that 7.4 is have problems with. The metadata gets parsed
just fine and the albums & tracks show up as expected. But the cover
art doesn't get scanned and the album won't play.
Nothing is being emitted in either the server or scanner logs.
However, this error message is getting dumped to stderr on the console:
Code:
--------------------
Les déesses outragées - Agnès Mellon, Barcarole.flac: ERROR initializing
decoder
init status = FLAC__STREAM_DECODER_INIT_STATUS_ERROR_OPENING_FILE
An error occurred opening the input file; it is likely that it does not exist
or is not readable.
/usr/share/squeezeboxserver_svn/server/Bin/i386-linux/sox formats: can't open
input `-': WAVE: RIFF header not found
Les déesses outragées - Agnès Mellon, Barcarole.flac: ERROR initializing
decoder
init status = FLAC__STREAM_DECODER_INIT_STATUS_ERROR_OPENING_FILE
--------------------
The file in question plays perfectly and the cover art displays in FB2K
and flac -t reports no errors or corruption in the file.
Again, I'm seeing hundreds of examples like this in my library. I
spent a good chunk of yesterday trying to pin this down...problems in
the flac? problems with the metadata? problems with diacritics in the
file or folder names? ...all to no avail. I can't see any pattern.
But I have to believe that the fact that the coverart isn't getting
scanned with any of these files has to be a clue.
Anyone have any ideas? Are there any debugging args I should be using
to try to track this down?
