This still happens, although I've now realised that a long push of the left arrow will get me back to the main menu. Still, the snooze/turn off alarm screen that pops up when the alarm fires is not usable.
And this morning the alarm made no sound. When I looked at the settings for the particular alarm I found that the alarm volume was on maximum. any change I tried to make to the setting would not persist until for some reason (something to do with cacelling the snooze screen maybe?) it did.
