Thanks for the replies. It's the 7.5 WHS version (update uploaded automatically). I installed it three days ago, and the sound appeared to me slightly better compared to the r29xxx build. I was not looking for something, as I never experienced a difference in any 6.x or 7.x builds for two years or so.
So, I saw two possibilities: 1>I was mistaken (it's very easy, as you must know), 2>There had been a change somewhere In my opinion the explanation #1 is the most probable one (by a great margin).
