Not sure of the timeline for a fixed Controller (jive) firmware. I ended up downgrading to 7.4 (r7790). I also took the liberty of editing the wiki (http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.ph...te_via_SD_Card) to reflect 7.4 instead of 7.3.
Note that you will have to delete the jive .bin file from cache\updates AND edit the jive.version file to reflect the current firmware (r7790) or else you will be prompted constantly to download a nonexistent firmware update.
