Ralph- My WHS (HP MediaSmart) is auto-updating fine with 7.5.
Last weekend there was a firmware problem, but not in January when you posted this. In the web UI, go to Advanced > Software Updates to make sure Check for software updates AND Automatic download are both enabled. (Note that there is no equivalent in the Squeezebox Server settings tab in WHS.)
