(I realize that 7.6 trunk should be essentially the same as 7.5 embedded at this stage, but thought I'd report so that others could begin switching over to 7.6.)
I did an SVN update of 7.6 trunk today after all the merges and then set up a couple of servers using it. The first pointing at my main FLAC library of 27,000 files, 2250 albums, no playlists, and the second server pointing at an MP3 mirror of the same library, with identical file and album counts. The MP3 library server was started first and ran its initial scan, giving me counts identical to those seen in 7.5 trunk and 7.5 embedded. The scan took 17:40 to complete. After a false start, the FLAC library server ran its initial scan in 13:56. The false start was that the pref file was from an old 7.5 trunk server and I had left it configured to use MySQL. The scan was running for over an hour and then the pre-caching of artwork slowed to one every three minutes before I killed it and went looking for the problem. After switching it to SQLite, all is well.
