Agreed, 7.6/sqlite is (usually) much nicer. (and I don't fault it for not re-merging my mistagged split album, the determine-album code is hairy enough, it's best to just agree that it's one of those "do a full rescan" things..) But I also think the "sorry, no listening to music while doing a rescan" is bad. If that's the real case, then players should simply be locked out until the scan is complete... which is not going to thrill anyone at all.
