In basic form, all you need is dynamic playlist - start with this, it's really simple. This allows you to play a standard playlist, and it will play dynamically, adding only n songs (10 by default I think) from the playlist to the current playlist. It will then keep 10 future songs and 10 historic songs (purging older songs and adding new songs as songs are played). It can be configured such that playing these playlists in this way will automatically shuffle, so you can leave the normal SBS shuffle mode off (play an album in normal order, but play playlists shuffled). Then you can add additional dynamic playlists through additional plugins, such as SqlPlaylist (which provides playlists that can be configured, eg, include or exclude songs that have a particular genre). TrackStat provides dynamic playlists based on ratings and play counts (eg. providing auto playlists such as songs played recently, songs with a 5* rating, etc). You can browse dynamic playlists via My Music > Dynamic Playlists. You don't need CustomBrowse to make use of these features. Alternatively, you can browse to something and go into context menu (or mixers for Classic players) and play a dynamic playlist based on that. eg. Browse Playlists > [playlist name] > Dynamic Playlist > Random songs from playlist. I think this way of starting a dynamic mix requires CustomBrowse. _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta
